Whenever I try to play a track using a hot cue, there is a slight delay before the track plays during which time the track is flashing on screen. This is quite an issue because it means that if two tracks are beatmatched and I want to skip a track to a hot cue, the beats go out of sync. Once the hot cue has been loaded the first time, it is instantaneous thereafter until I load a new track.
Strangely, all the hot cues I set before this started occurring load instantly, and the problem affects hot cues set in rekordbox aswell as hot cues set using the unit itself. I've seen other problems being resolved by turning off quantize, this isn't the problem here as the delay happens whether it is on or off. I also have the latest version of rekordbox and the latest XDJ-RX firmware installed.
This is quite an inconvenient problem because it means I have to load every cue i want to use before I'm playing a track, which makes it very difficult to mix quickly between tracks. Any help would be much appreciated!
The XDJ-RX (and some other players) do not automatically load the hot cues to memory under all circumstances, for instance:
- instant doubles
- load via text search
- load via track select (fwd / rev) buttons
If you want to have the hot cues loaded automatically, you'll have to call a track any other method, and ensure that the AUTO LOAD HOT CUES setting is enabled in the RX preferences.
