hello. i have an xdj-rx that recently just started freezing after owning for over 1yr. issue occurred on both 2.20 and 2.21 firmware. seems to have audio quality issues (regardless of track) before finally giving a quick little blippy sound and freezing requiring a complete restart and sometimes freezes right back up again after restarting. the drives used vary in brand and it seems to also happen when switching between usb1 and usb2 altbough it has froze whem just using usb1. also seems to have issues displaying all folders on isb drives from time to time. does this require a warranty replacement?
Thanks for narrowing it down through testing -- sorry to hear that about the Passport, I was hoping that newer models weren't as subject to the communication (or connection?) issues that earlier models had been.
I've passed the comments along to our engineers to see if they'd noticed any issues with those drives in their testing (if they've used them).

What are the makes / models of the USB drives you've used?
Are you able to replicate it consistently with certain tracks or by performing specific functions on the RX?
drive make/models: western digital 250gb passport and sandisk cruzers (varying in capacity).
one thing i did notice is the issue hasnt popped up unless ive alternated between usb 1 and usb 2 but the drives inserted are different...could be 2 cruzers could be the passport and cruzer, etc
the alternation between ports seems to piss the RX off
I know we've had issues with WD Passport drives in the past, and the Cruzer isn't exactly a high-performance drive, but I'm curious as to whether it's an issue with the 2 ports, as you suggest. Let me pass this along to our product team to see if they have any ideas.

Personally, I have a Samsung T5 SSD that I use for my main collection -- and I also use it as the export drive so I can take all my songs in a tiny little drive, but it's pricey, so for smaller storage, I only recommend two USB drives:
- Corsair Voyager GTX 3.0
- SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.1
They're pricier than anything else on the market, but they're reliable and fast as hell -- and I've never had any issues with them in any players.
pulse. after a few tests myself ive determined its not the unit but the wd passport as the lone culprit. i will never use anything that is not a solid-state drive with this and maybe you could also suggest that as well? we were able to perform w the xdj 7 straight hours yesterday without issue using nothing but sandisk ultras and crusers. i took the unit home and connected my passport and it froze within an hour.
