Please try using a powered USB hub.
On a Mac Pro 2012. The unit was working fine this morning when i plugged it in for the first time and all lights came on(hadn't installed serato so didn't see if it worked correctly controlling) . Now when i plug it in it turns on the the tops half of the SB2 lights up for about half a second then all lights switch off and dont come back on (play, cue, loop pads etc never light up).
When i had it on today and connected to a speaker it had a static noise playing, now nothing.
Any ideas?

Please try using a powered USB hub.
Would a phone wall charger usb socket be considered a powered USB? If so have the exact same issue.
Tried different computer, 3 different USB cables. the unit has worked perfectly previously at my friends house on an imac and was powered on for roughly 20 minutes through my macbook before this issue.
No - a "powered USB hub" has a dedicated DC input to provide power to the ports of the hub as opposed to the host (computer) providing the power.
So i have plugged into a usb port of a surge protector with nothing plugged in and still powers on for half a second.
I have taken the controller back over to my friends place, where we have used it between 15-20 times for hours each time and it still does the same thing a powers up for half a second. Obviously usb power isn't the issue since we have used this exact set up a bunch of times before (plus given it needs to be USBed to a computer to actually use it and has no other way of power would be pretty useless if it needed DC power as then it would have no way to actually connect to computer). As i mentioned in my first comment when i first used it power on fine and stayed on for about 20-30 mins whilst i was getting Serato installed etc. I actually found the device in my macs midi setting, so obviously is it stayed on for a while and was recognised.
Its almost like as soon as i installed Serato pro the controller stopped powering on
See a youtube link below to what the half powering on looks like.
From your video, it almost seems like there's a problem with the USB port of the unit, as it's receiving power before the USB cable is fully seated in the jack, at which point it cuts out. If you had it in half-way, does it stay working?
i have the same issue with my ddj sb pls give some solution
@BASS MONK > Please try the following:
- a different USB port
- a different USB cable
- a powered USB hub
- a different computer
If the problems persist, it could be the DDJ is failing, but give those a try first.
