Deleted Playlist

I am running the latest version of rekordbox.

While having a a folder selected, I accidentally deleted my playlists of over 2000 hand selected songs, cue points and all.

Rekordbox is a magnificent piece of software, so I hope you'll understand my frustration and forgive my crudeness when I say why the fuck don't you have an undo button?

I'd love an actual, honest answer to this question. I do not have time to fix this before my gig, I will need to find cover - you have just lost me money.

In terms of a fix, yes I have been into my rekordbox folder, created a copy of the datafile.backup.edb BEFORE closing the software, restarted it and replaced the backup. It did not work.

When are you going to introduce a bloody undo button?

If you haven't restarted Rekordbox too many times yet, you can try restoring one of the other datafile.backup*.edb files. Otherwise you can restore the datafile.edb file from your system backup.

@Zane > Sorry to hear that, I know the frustration, the UNDO function is still on the list.

I will point out, however, that we didn't cost you the gig... we didn't delete your playlist (I hope you'll understand my blunt and honest truth).

If you're looking to get back to an earlier version of the database, my suggestion would be to pull up the 2nd backup, not the first.

I've just had the same issue (though luckily just with a small playlist), I hit delete thinking I had a track selected in the playlist, but turns out I had the playlist selected (these things can easily happen when you're multi-tasking!). Would it be worth having a prompt box come up like when you want to delete a track, saying something like 'do you really want to delete this playlist?' or similar?
Just a suggestion. Thanks

I did just manage to get the playlist back by backing up to an older version from a couple of days ago by changing the name of the backup2 file etc as you suggested (and I found the other instructions on another thread). So thanks for that suggestion. But a prompt to check if a playlist really is to be deleted or not would be great still.

...What is with software companies being hostile to blatant failings in their software
