DDJ1000 aux input

I have just set up my DDJ1000 and connected my 1210's via the phono inputs. The sound is terrible and I have to have the trim and all the EQs up to max to get any real voume. I am then getting a buzz through the speakers as everything us turned up so high. Trying to mix between mp3s and vinyl is near impossible due to the difference in volume between the two. Both my turntables are grounded to the unit and both the inputs are set to line in on the phono channels. Nothing I have tried seems to make an improvement. Also the headphones mix does not appear to work at all.

Think I understand the headphone mix now. Been reading another post and see that I need to a master cue. Just need to sort the terrible sound when using my turntables now.

Did you double check if you've set the [Line-Phono] switch to Phono on input 3 and 4?

And did you connect the grounding wires of the SL1210's on to the SIGNAL GND screw?

All Sorted! Had the line/Phono switches on the front of the mixer set to phono. Didn't realise there was a second set of switches on the back of the mixer. Thanks.

The channel switch 3 and 4 on top of the DDJ-1000 controller switches between USB A - Line/Phono - USB B input. When you set this switch to Line/Phono, then you have to choose between Line or Phono input on the back of the controller.

Turntables give a weaker audio signal from a different level than line audio from a CD player. In this case the signal from a turntable must be amplified internally first, before it's presented towards the faders.

When you experience a buzzing sound in the audio signal when using the SL1210's, then the earthing wires of the turntables are not connected on the the controller's SIGNAL GND screw. This is mandatory, in order to prevent this buzzing sound.
