I have my XDJ RX for about 2 years now and I have some problems with it. I couldn't find much info about it. So I hope someone can help me.
During longer sets (over 2 hours) I start to get messages on the display saying:
"Track needs to be analyzed" or "track not found"
After a while it starts doing it to more tracks in the same folder. If I keep going longer this problem will expand to all folders. If I still keep playing the unit will eventually freeze completely.
To avoid the freezing I have to eject the usb when the first error messages start appearing. After ejecting and re-inserting the usb, it will behave normal and all tracks that had given me errors play perfectly fine. Sometimes it behaves normal for the rest of my set, sometimes the problem re-appears after a couple of minutes.
I will try to give as many details as possible:
Brand usb 1
Kingston data traveller 3.0 128gb
Brand usb 2
Sandisk Extreme Pro 3.1 128 gb
All my tracks have been purchased and analyzed with rekordbox.
All my tracks are 320kbps
I'm currently using about 70gb on both usb sticks.
Both USB sticks perform without any error on other pioneer products. (xdj 1000 mk2, cdj2000 nxs 2)
The usb sticks are formatted MAC OS extended journal (hfs+)
I have folders with playlists in them. My biggest playlists have about 850 tracks in them. But most of my playlists have about 25 tracks in them. The problem happens in all folders/playlists.
I have tried to find information about this and it seems the XDJ-RX doesn't work well with usb sticks formatted HFS+
I also read that the solution is formatting the usb sticks FAT32.
So I formatted the sticks to fat32. I tried exporting my playlists to the newly formatted usb sticks but it was taking forever so I aborted. It was exporting my 70gb of tracks and after about 24 hours it was done only about 20% (extremely slow)
Is there a way to fix this? This is extremely annoying. Obviously the freezing of the unit during a gig is quite embarrassing, and constantly ejecting and re-inserting my usb sticks to avoid freezing is not the solution either.
Can I get some help?
I have contacted tech support, they have only asked me to send them the tracks that gave me errors. But I swear, it has nothing to do with the tracks. It's always different tracks giving me errors. And it definitely has nothing to do with the quality of the usb sticks since they operate perfectly on other Pioneer gear.
PLEASE HELP!
It's much appreciated.
