DDJ SR2 censor power problem

I have this controller for nearly a year DDJ SR2 , play 4 times a week never had problem until last night when it crashed on me three times !

Censor light on left side started flashing and the hardware completely disconnected and music kept playing in serato , the censor light kept flashing.

i switched off the unit , unplug my power and plugged all back in .

after 5 minutes it happened again. and again.

somehow the controller the played for next three hours without the power plug , just plugged into my mac via usb.

You will probably say that the problem is in my power plug but after testing it for few hours at home it didn't happen again.

what is the problem ? i can't have this happen to me in club again.

thanks

@Elle > Sorry to hear that -- the blinking censor button indicates an abnormal power supply.

This button blinks when power input to the computer is not sufficient when using the Bus Power or any issues occurred in the USB cable. Also, the blink will continue even if you connect an AC adapter without removing the USB cable while the button is blinking due to the Bus Power issue.

Please make sure to first remove the USB cable before connecting an AC adapter to launch the unit again.

If the same issue continues even after connecting an AC adapter and launch the unit again, it may be a hardware issue. You should also troubleshoot this by switching out the USB cable or using a different USB port on your computer.

Should the problem occur again, please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have your hardware inspected and/or serviced.

Ok that happened again last night while plugged in to the power, it works just plugged to the Mac via USB with the power plug plugged out. Is it safe to use it this way until I get it repaired?

Yes -- if the unit works with just the USB cable (which it is designed to do - but you will likely not have booth output, and I think the XLR outputs are disabled as well...?), you should just replace the DC power supply as that's possibly which component is faulty.
