DDJ SR volume faders jumping

Hey everyone, How's it going? I am having an issue with The left channel volume fader of my DDJ SR fluctuating on its own in Traktor Pro 3. I've recently noticed that the left pitch fader is fluctuating also. This behavior seems to occur any time I'm using the controller in an air conditioned environment, primarily if the Air is blowing directly on to the controller from above or from the sides. It's very difficult to have solid mixes and transitions when this is happening. I had the controller serviced twice and this behavior is still happening. Before i send it in again, I was curious if there was another solution besides just turning off the air which is usually at the discretion of the venue manager and not myself. thanks for the help in advance.

Is the A/C set to hurricane force? I don't honestly believe that the air would be enough to move the pitch fader -- the channel fader maybe if it was really loose, but not the pitch faders.

Are you using it with the external power supply, or just USB power?

I am using USB power. There's no external power on the SR. At first I thought it was the touch screen on my laptop that was maybe being effected by the air and was messing with the volume and pitch on the software but i disabled it and it's still happening.

If you really think that's what it is get a piece of cardboard or album cover and stand it up beside the SR on that side to see if it really is air causing the problem.

The first thing you have to do is determine the actual cause of the issue.

sounds like a good idea. I'm definitely sure the cause is the air. I never have these issues any other time except when 2 of the venues I play at throw that AC on.

Yeah I used to have a SR and never saw anything like that happen and I used several times with a fan blowing directly on the unit from the side.

I would suspect something is going on in that Traktor TSI more than anything else, they are really good for hiding strange quirks or layering tweaks.

That's one of the reasons I stopped using mapped controllers in Traktor and just decided that a NI build for Traktor controller is always safer.
