Hey all,
I was about to start DJ'ing the other night and when I turned up the volume to the mains at the club all was OK. I then plugged in my headphones and the volume in my headphones wasn't working right. I unplugged the jack and then plugged it back in. When I did this an extremely loud white noise/static noise was in my headphones and going out through the mains on the sound system. It was so loud that it could have damaged the speakers in the room. Luckily it didn't. Even when I turned down the volume faders on the controller it still happened. I turned the controller off and then back on again and it had stopped. I tried another song and just listened in the headphones this time. I started to hear some odd static popping noises so I shut the controller down and used the house DDJ SZ for the night. At the end of the night I tested the controller out again and it seemed fine.
I have another gig this week and I need to use my controller for it. I'm a bit horrified that this may happen again and if it does it'll be BAD because it was SO loud. Any ideas what this could be?
I checked the Mic jack and volume. It was turned down and seemed normal. It's just strange that it started when I put the headphone jack in.
Could a bad power connection cause something like this? I was wondering if it was the power strip I was plugged in to. Perhaps a bad slot?
Thanks in advance.
