Pressing pla/pause id the easiest work around, it thinks you're setting a new cue and would need to monitor the sound so it expects you to scrub through.
So I’m a serato user, I have bought ddj-400 and playing around. I’m in vinyl mode, when track is just loaded (or after I push cue when it’s playing) it jumps to cue point, that’s okay, that’s expected. But. When I try to move needle position with jog wheels, it moves with my fingers on, but immediately jumps back to cue point if I release my fingers. How can I disable this? In serato you can freely move the needle position with jog wheels, set new cue point and so on. Here it looks I should play/pause to do the same or not release my fingers at all, which is quite annoying.

Hi Alice,
in rekordbox open the preferences panel, select controller > deck and in the 'JOG' box uncheck "after turning on the cue button and spinning the jog the track returns to the cue point and pause".
Let us know if that helps
Pigi G thanks! That is exact checkbox I needed!
I have one more question related to beat grid, should I start new thread or can I ask it here?
You're welcome.
What's your question about the beatgrid?
Phew, after clearing site data and disabling service workers I can finally see this textarea and type (I have many questions to your front-end web devs), what a relief.
I have plenty of questions. They are basically from the standpoint of serato user again:
1. In serato in complicated cases (I like to play experimental music) when I try to set grids I sometimes get stuck and want to start over. And I can clear the grid and start again. Can I do something like this in rekordbox?
2. Sometimes tracks will have bars half of the size, so it went 4/4 and at one moment it’s just 2/4 and then again everything is going like nothing happened and it’s 4/4 again. In serato I can set beat marker before half-bar, speed up tempo 2 times, set second marker after half-bar and then set everything like it was before. Can I do something like this in rekordbox?
3. Can I adjust beat grid using controller (any ddj R*/400/800/1000) like in serato or is it keyboard/mouse only?
4. Oh, and also, in serato tracks with odd meters are frustration (6/8, 7/8), because serato is officially 4/4 only. Can rekordbox do meters other than 4/4?
Ok. Here are the answers.
1. In rekordbox there's no 'clear' button but you have undo/redo buttons in the grid panel.
2. Yes you can! In the knowledge base page of the forum you can find an excellent vid made by Pulse where he explains how to manage tracks with tempo changes.
3. Yes on DDJ 1000 and 800. As far as I know you can't on DDJ 400 with its default mapping but you should be able to do that with a simple remapping.
4. Only 4/4 like serato.
Also keep in mind that unlike serato in rekordbox there are two analysis mode - normal and dynamic. Tracks with a consistent tempo must be analyzed in normal mode and most of the time this is the mode to use. Dynamic mode is an option specifically designed for tracks with a fluctuating tempo due to live drumming (e.g. 70's disco songs, live recordings). In dynamic mode the software readjust the grid and tempo every 4 beats during the analysis thus don't forget to revert to normal mode when you don't need dynamic mode any longer or you will have unwanted fluctuating bpm values in tracks with consistent tempo.
Thank you for the answers! I’ll check video by Pulse and will look into remapping for ddj 400.
I’ve already checked out dynamic mode and it’s quite good, but not so great when it comes to experimental electronic music (I’m talking Arca, Réelle, Zuli, Lotic and the likes) it’s quite often is off. But oh well, it’s supposed to be that way, because this music is effing with rhythms/tempos and so on.
So thanks again!
