@Luke > That setting (all the way to the right) is the "sharp cut" fade, it's working exactly as intended. If you want a more gradual fade, turn it more to the left.

Cross fader doesn't fade tracks DDJ-1000
I have had my DDJ-1000 for about 2 months now, the crossfader hasn't worked properly since i got it (brand new) but i assumed it was something to do with settings. I have never really needed to use it but i want to learn to scratch now but i can't. The problem im having is that it doesnt fade, both tracks play at the same volume no matter where the slider is, unless it is all the way to one side and then only that side will play. Here are all my settings and a youtube link to the problem:

Thanks for the video and the solution. it really worked. I don't know why it stopped working
