DDJ1000SRT and Serato : 1st use issue

Hello there, I did quite a lot of research before posting so apologies if the answer is stated somewhere. I just received my brand new DDJ1000SRT and gave it a go straight out of the box. I originally didn’t install the driver (my bad) on my Mac (running on 10.14 Mojave) and already had Serato DJ Pro installed on it. When I first plugged the controller it stated that the driver was missing (from the jog). Subsequently I went on Pioneer website and downloaded the driver - authorised the driver to go through security (by typing my password and clicking on the allow button). Since then I can see Serato and Pioneer DJ on the jog wheels but nothing happens on the software. I did try to uninstall and reinstall the driver, restart the Mac. When I check the system status, the Mac does recognise the controller in the USB section. I even tried to check if I missed the driver’s authorisation, going through the “information system” and “disabled software” section, but it was empty. I am very clueless now on to what should be done cause I’ve tried multiple times uninstalling then reinstalling the driver (making sure the controller and Serato DJ Pro were disconnected/closed). Please could you help ? Thanks !
