In all fairness, I would say the CDJ 2000 NXS is fine for use. There are certain features on the decks that might still need to be looked at but generally I would say it's good. For most of us, a lot of the disappoint came as a result of paying full price for a brand new flagship unit that had a lot of bugs so the frustration was built as newer bugs got introduced when a "fix" was what we were looking for. I would stick to the 2000 but if you have the opportunity to get wither one, and your funds are limited, you should consider other costs to you if you were to buy the 2000s over the 900s. For example, if you already have cases for the 900s, you might not be able to fit the 2000s in that case so look at your over all cost before making a decision. One thing is for certain, the 2000s and the new 900 nxs are way too similar in features. Another thing to consider is that the demand for the 2000s will most likely be higher than the 900s (in resale) so if you decide to sell in a while, I think the 2000s will go easier.
Good luck with your choice and let us know which way you go and how you feel after a while.
Merry Christmas!
