XDJ-RX as audio interface for Ableton Live

Hello! I was wondering if I can connect the xdj-rx to my computer with USB and select it as my audio output in Ableton Live. I have done this before with a NI S4 and it worked great. I don't need anything on the xdj to control anything in Ableton as I am using an APC40. I just want to use it as my audio output device.

Thanks!

As @Michael says below, this can be done quite easily.

If you're using Windows, you can select your default audio device for system sounds (like websites, etc), and then only route the audio from Ableton to the master output of the XDJ-RX. Keep in mind you won't have individual channel output, only Master / Headphone output.

Hi Jacob,

Yes you can, just install the xdj drivers on your pc/mac and connect via USB, connect your monitors via the booth.

Go into you sound option on pc/mac and select XDJ RX as your output. then do the same on ableton preferences.

Please note that when using other websites like soundcloud, itunes etc to play music you will sometimes get a loop effect that just will not switch off, this doesn't happen for me in Ableton just on the online or itunes.

Hope this helps....

@charbel > You're most likely noticing a problem with multiple applications trying to access the RX audio interface simultaneously; make sure Windows has the default audio device for the computer assigned to it, and ONLY Ableton has the RX selected.
