Pioneer CDJ2000nxs2 USB compatibility not fit for purpose...

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling extremely cheated after spending a considerable amount of money upgrading to the 2000nxs2s.

The CDJs seem to have a life of their own when linked, and when using USB sticks! After reading through the forums there are countless posts concerning USB stick compatibility.

After some research, I chose to go with the Corsair Survivor Stealth 256GB because of its rugged design, and the fact that USB compatibility issues previously (or so Pioneer would like us to believe) associated with these sticks seemingly a thing of the past - 64GB model, for example.

However the CDJ when sourcing tracks (mp3s) from the Survivor drive, with link connected to the other player, randomly goes into Emergency Loop Mode.

This is not acceptable Pioneer!!! Forum posts seem to stop regarding these issues, around 2017 - WHY? THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED!

Please advise of USB drives which are known to be compatible COMPLETELY - as in - the £4000 per pair CDJs - work as advertised, and include functions which can be utilised regardless of which other-expensive-dj-kit we have to wade through just to be able to play music through a glorified CD player!!!!!!

Sorry William - Jay posted incorrect information regarding the Survivor series drives; the Corsair Voyager GTX is the only USB drive from Corsair we recommend. The Survivor drives are known to have issues with the XDJ units and may have unexpected performance with CDJs.

Unfortunately there are simply too many USB drives on the market for us to test them all and issue any kind of certification. Thank you for understanding.

We have used the Corsair Survivor without issue, we have also used a myriad of other drives that have been great. The variables often are the quality of the tracks and the Formatting process. The first step should be that you re-format to FAT32 and try the drive again. Last week in Vegas, same issue, re-formatted the PKNY drive the DJ was using and for the rest of the week, no issues. The other variable, some times a drive isn't good.

I have several experiences with NXS2 players that can't read USB drives that works 100% in any other unit. They are very picky and moody when it comes to low and mid tier drives, as reported here:

Easy solution: Buy a pair of Sandisk Extreme Pro 3.1 and wave goodbye to all your troubles. They have dropped drastically in price and are quite affordable now.

To update:

I have replaced my Survivor Stealth with a Voyager GTX as recommended.

The good news: this improved the read/write functionality on my CDJs, and the collection sync with my laptop massively, taking only 10 minutes or so to transfer around 40 GB (the Stealth took nearly 3 days to sync the same!!!).

However, the CDJs still enter emergency loop with certain tracks.

I am awaiting a reply form supported will update again once I have been advised of a solution, if any!
