DDJ-400 and 11th Gen Intel processor

My DDJ-400 does not work with Rekordbox 6.4.2 that's on my Dell Inspiron laptop with 11th Gen i5-1135G7 processor. The laptop is running Windows 10 Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041, and it has 8GB RAM.  I tried two different USB cords, and used all available USB ports. I updated the firmware to version 1.01. The DDJ-400 appears in the Device Manager under Sound, Video and Game Controllers.

I also tried the DDJ-400 on an 6-yr old laptop with an i7 processor and 12GB of RAM.  It works, but it constantly disconnects itself, and I am unable to scratch.

Please help me figure out if I'm doing something wrong.

Hey Chuck,

Our engineers have noted that there is an issue with certain 11th-gen Intel CPU based computers. Here is their advice:

  1. Search for apps and features from start menu and open the page
  2. Locate the MaxxAudio Pro and click to choose uninstall
  3. Download Realtek driver from this link.

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-au/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=ccpg5&oscode=wt64a&productcode=inspiron-15-5502-laptop

  1. Run this file and install to the laptop. Follow on screen to complete. This driver will perform > remove existing driver > restart > auto run again > install new driver > restart.
  1. After complete the cycle, test again connect and disconnect headphone to test. It will auto switch and no need to set anything.

You may follow this link in case the audio still not fixed. This is purely software related and no issue with the hardware.

Thank you very much! Uninstalling Audio Maxx, and installing Realtek solved my problem! My DDJ-400 works smoothly now!

Hi everyone.

I week ago I purchased an HP Envy x360 15.6", 12gb RAM, 512gb SSD and Intel IRIS Xe integrated graphic card. I am using a Pioneer DDJ-1000. All the drivers are up to date, Windows 10 is updated and so is Rekordbox.

Now the problems; Rekordbox freezes and stops the music quite often, sometimes after this freezing time I lose the cue feature and the sound is very "grainy" per se. It is sooooo embarrasing to the point that some of my online sets and streams have been affected. I can't record a set without feeling overwhelmed by the fact that it is going to happen again. I exchanged the device and got a new one just to learn that I came into the same problem again.

I also own a Samsung Book Ion 13.3" i7 10 generation which screen is too small but never gave me a problem at all. Both computers have the exact same features and music in Rekordbox.

Is there anything you recommend?, seems like the 11th generation of Intel processors is giving us a hard time and bringing some hardship along the way.

Thanks a lot.

@Daniel > The only solutions we've seen so far are to inquire with the manufacturer about updated drivers or BIOS. I did see a user post a video providing a work-around to remove the Realtek drivers and use Windows default drivers, so you can certainly try that, but your mileage may vary.

Same problem here, DDJ400 with Rekordbox-6 not working with my Dell Windows-10 11th gen Intel.  Almost all buttons momentarily light up but then turns off except for On/Off Release FX button and the two Hot Cue buttons.

So I went to pioneerdj.com and updated my DDJ400 firmware to Ver. 1.03...

Next, I went to dell.com. Uninstalled my current Realtek HD audio driver then downloaded & installed updated Realtek audio driver...

I also, installed their MaxxAudio app...

Dell Inspiron + DDJ 400 + Rekordbox 6  =  now working!

I tried to uninstall the audio driver (realtek) and installed a new driver from the Lenovo site, unfortunately without success.

The instructions from your computer manufacturer should be pretty simple and straight-forward.

@Tomas > You'll need to see if MSI has uploaded a new BIOS and drivers for your compute to resolve this problem.

Hello, anybody has any answer for the problem? Please, a lot of people is strugling with this. Intel and Pioneer should contact and work together to solve this. We have a hight quality equipment that should work perfectly.

I have a MSI Stealth with 11th Intel Gen. The same problem that this guy:

@Francis > Again, the problem is NOT Pioneer DJ's as it affects us AND many other audio / MIDI hardware manufacturers. I'm sorry, but it's up to MSI to issue an updated BIOS and/or drivers.
