Wasted 3 months trying to get rekordbox working

I've just been importing songs into rekordbox 1.5.1 (New update)1 by 1 and after 2 hours it crashes which is how long it takes me to put 500 songs and I have 800.

The database is now corrupt and I'll have to try again.

I've been trying this every time a new update comes out in the hope that this software won't crash. I play my sets on cdj2000's using a usb stick with my mp3's and Wav with no problems at all, so I know my files are perfect.

Rekordbox is the program I've always wanted, but I've never got it to work.

I've tried this on my PC and My Mac pro.

I'm so frustrated. I've never had any program crash on my mac except rekordbox.

PS... I've read all the threads on rekordbox and tried everything.

@ Mick Staines > If you're willing to try anything at this point, I'll send a few suggestions.

  1. Download AppZapper for Mac and remove Rekordbox completely. Then re-download the latest version from Pioneer's site and re-install it.

  2. Even if all you files play on your CDJ's, in iTunes, and other software, you should still double check all your files to make sure everything is in order, even if you purchase all of your tracks or burn them from CD's you own. You should put all your music through "MP3 Scan + Repair" for Mac, and see what type of results it turns.

  3. Considering it makes it to 2 hours, quits, and is corrupt, it sounds like it could be 1 single file right at the same time, or it could be an overload because Rekordbox uses a lot of RAM when analyzing tracks. I would consider only loading 1/4 of your library first and letting it analyze everything. Once completed, shut down Rekordbox, possibly restart your entire computer to free up your RAM if you don't have an app for it, and then do another 1/4 into Rekordbox. Do this until you've loaded everything into Rekordbox, and see if it still quits on you.

I'm thinking one of these things should possibly work for you. But reply back either way and let me know how it goes.

Sorry I rushed at the end... gotta go.

Thanks,
