1.5.4 update

@Dph...something > The 1.5.4 update shouldn't have changed anything but it would appear several users have had various problems.

What is located on the external HD, just your exports?  When is it that rekordbox crashes -- when trying to export or launching the software with the drive connected?

Btw, im on mac book pro 10.6.8 (2.4 ghz 8 gb ram)

I have other files on this drive too..but ive always used this drive with rekordbox and it always worked perfectly..

As a matter of fact, right before ive updated (from 1.5.3) i was still using this drive to do my exports ( playlists, files)..just worked fine as always.;

rekordbox crashes when launched if drive is connected..

It doesn't crash when i connect a flash drive though (then i can do my exports)

Ive verified my ext HD drive with Disk Utility but app says drive is ok .

Same problem for me after the update, the beat grid has shifted to my collection.

Not great this update. I will have to analyze everything again and check track by track.

My collection is under the drive of my pc and just after the update and no error rekordbox works but all the grids are staggered.

After an analysis version1.5.4 a track, the grid is properly callee.

I'll have to redo the analysis and verification of my 5000 mp3 ..........

Rekorsbox v1.5.3

Rekordbox v1.5.4 :

I Have 2 Laptops. Both PC 64bit Win67, Pioneer DJM2000, CDJ2000's & 900's.

  Rekordbox 1.5.3 worked fine until I updatedto 1.5.4.  Now it wont let me drag and drop songs anymore.  Wont load in any of the 4 Players....

Can I please Just re-get 1.5.3 back?    My other laptop still has 1.5.3 and it works fine.....

rekordbox crashes with ext drive connected on start up and also when connecting after...so it doesn't allow me to export to the drive..

but i had no pb tonight reading files on cdj 2000 at the club..which was a good point..

Just to verify -- you connect it after the program is running and rekordbox crashes?

As it's your export drive, are you averse to formatting it and starting fresh?

1 - If i connect the ext drive after the program is running = rekordbox crashes

2 - if i connect ext drive before, then i launch the program, rekordbox opens but crashes after 1 or 2 seconds..

3 - I was doing exports to my ext drive (with 1.5.3) a couple of minutes before ive updated to 1.5.4 and it was just working absolutly fine..it is once i was updated on 1.5.4 that pb begun.

4 - i cant format my ext drive, i use it as a back up for other audio files..and it works just fine if not using rekordbox..why should i ?

In that case, I would suggest you remove the hidden Pioneer folder (which contains the export database) and the "contents" folder from the drive, that may resolve the issue as it tries to read the export database when the device is detected.

Just a heads up. I found my fix. The new update doesnt tranfser settings for firewall in win7 correctly. Had to reset & configure.
No more 8302.
(i believe this is a pc problem only)

...as for the external HD issues, i learned long ago not to storale on an external with cdjs...

My solution is 2 laptops, both with seperate itunes and rekorbox. For those who have this luxury... Its dope.
Less cpu usage means i can have ableton recording in te background, and 2 playlists to drag & drop :)

what do you mean exactly by "i learned long ago not to storate on an external with cdjs" ?

what I meant was:

trying to store all your music on an external drive, and having products like Rekordbox, or Serato,  try &  read it in real time, usually causes more problems for me than its worth.  Iv had plenty of issues in the past.

Now that I can sync two laptops w/ to instances of rekordbox into the same set of turntables.... life is much easier. I have one laptop dedicated to new music, edm, club shit.... all organized in playlists within Rekordbox.

& the other laptop has all my 80s, 90's, hiphop, house, old skool, classics, running into Rekordbox via the itunes link function.

its perfect..  I have 60k tracks at my fingertips. no external needed & no problems (knock on wood)

& one laptop acts as a backup for the other.... so if one shits the bed, I can still throw down.

(I also carry usb backups as a fail safe....)

Rekordbox works great wireless, for me lso, so no more fiddling with wires in the club..

Being a PC guy,  I dont trust externals. they r fragile, and unreliable,  and I have compatibility issues trying to collab w/ my Mac friends, so Iv cut them out the loop. My second laptop is my backup hard drive

Oh but they are... My internal drive has no issues being read by rekordbox 1.5.4. Your external HD does... My cdjs have problems reading certain xternal drives as well... Fact is: Its just another device that can potentially break or fail, or corrupt, or get lost or stolen... and cause issues. The less stuff u have to plug in & communicate with your software for live shows, the better Iv never had my internal drive fail on me. But iv dropped or broken or **** more than one external harddrive minutes before a gig. Too each his own, but duel laptop, solid state internals drives are the way to go... If u can afford it.

Please keep the language clean and family-friendly.

I have downloud recordbox 5.4 and after it fail to play, skip track i have reinstalt 5.3. Now the same problems as skip track, cue piont err. are appering. Sorry for the bad englisch Im for holland.

also recordbox fails te start up correctly only after numears attempts it startdid up but when I play track it start to skip tracks, stopt and after a while the track plays again or sometimes it don't play any more.

Another hour wasted trying to get it working again, darkisland can you please do a step by step of how your fixed it:

I have a Win7 64 bit Desktop, it has Norton Security suite for its firewall, all fine in 1.5.3 all broke in 1.5.4? Please help driving me crazy.

I followed this info, no joy still, I can't understand how everything worked flawlessly before with zero configuration through multiple updates, now all of a sudden its stopped working, pissed!

So I uninstalled all norton software, restarted, 4 windows firewall access pop ups came up for RB, I clicked allow access for all of them, still no luck, I disabled windows firewall, so no firewall now, still the error when trying to play the CDj from RB on my desktop, Help!

Go to: Start menu Windows firewall Allow programs thru firewall: Changes settings & make sure: All edb streamd are checked off All Pro dj link nfs servers are checked off All pro dj link system managers checked off All rekordbox program files are checked off (i left all home/public/private settings as they were, just check off the boxes on the left...) Make sure u restart you computer before u open rekordbox. If that doesnt work id get rid of norton completely and try it again. (3rd party antivirus software is useless and drains you cpu & **** with your settings....) Iv never used anything but win firewall and never had a virus... (dont download porn on the same computer u use for music.... Lol Good luck

Yep thanks, tried all that and more, I'd really like a dev to explain why there software upgrade messes with my firewall/3rd party firewalls thanks!

A really strange thing to do and I work in the software industry!

I guess I will be tying up the support lines tonight if I do nto get an answer on how to fix this.

I can only assume it is not the firewall after disabling I get the smae problem, so I am looking inot this:

1) Click on Control Panel located in the Start Menu.

2) Click on Network Sharing Center.

3) Click Change Adapter Settings after Network Sharing Center is opened.

4) Right-click on Local Area Connection and select Properties.

5) Once Local Area Connection Properties is displayed, click on the Sharing tab and confirm that the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" box under Internet Connection Sharing is unchecked.

I am new to Win7, when I right click adapter and select properties, there is no sharing tab, help please.
