CDJ2000 NEXUS FREEZING ISSUE

Hi all,

sorry another bug to report using CDJ2000 Nexus and RB2.0.1. When using the decks via the pro dj link if I let the track play out on deck A after transitioning a track into deck B when I go back to RB to put a new track into deck A the CDJ shows now loading but nothing happens other than sometimes I get a waiting disk appear on the screen. To be clear the same issue occurs when in the reverse scenario, i.e. adding new record onto deck B once the previous has been left to run out.

The issue doesn't happen when you it cue to end the record finishing. The only way to resolve this is by switching the CDJ off then back on which is very annoying.

Anyone else encountered this ?

I've never had a freeze or problem with my Nexus decks and I just finished a 3h set with 2 MK1's and 2 Nexus connected via Pro DJ Link to DJM-2000 and rekordbox on my MBP.

My collection in rekordbox is small (around 400 tracks) and it's only AIFF files.

Is there a major CDJ2000 NEXUS RECALL about to hit the DJ community?

I have seen a few returned CDJ2000 Nexus at my local music shops and figured I'd ask why they were returned.

Here are some of the answers I've gotten so far:

-Pioneer NEXUS have deployed some defective units

-DJs have claimed that the CDJ2000 NEXUS units do not support Serato HID like the previous CDJ2000s did (?)

-They are going back to get repaired (Freezing Issue)

-Pioneer wants them back (???) > I honestly got goose bumps when I heard this one <

-One of the shops is not even going to sell these anymore due to the high complaint and return rate (Too much of a headache).

Pioneer Staff,

Please hurry up with the firmware update before you end up with a warehouse full of CDJ2000 NEXUS returns.

These things are nice works of art and it would be a shame to see them loose their "Top Of The Line" tag.

I'm just giving honest feedback, I hope it helps in the end.

I'm not mad Pioneer... just disappointed in you.

Lol all I want to hear is Pioneer acknowledging the problem and that they're working hard on a firmware update (and that this can be fixed with a firmware update)

Just had a 2.5 hr session using rekordbox without a hiccup. Still don't trust them though. Hoping to hear something from Pioneer in regards to a permanent solution. I'm advising all my friends against making the investment as of yet

I believe that pioneer team will get this problem fix very very soon. After watching that video seeing one of the deck freeze up and having one of the reps reboot it while doing a live set not good. It sucks to hear from all you guys that your decks don't work right and you can't use them. I know you guys pay lots of money for them, for this to happen not good. But am bring all good luck and positive energy that a very quick firmware fix up will come soon

Not sure but didnt we have the same exact issues when the 2000mk1s came out? You should think they learned from it but I get it.. it's all about the $$$$$$€€€€€

yup, there were definitely bugs when the 2000's came out but definitely not show stopping, dance floor clearing ones  that the nexus has

My trusty old Pioneer CDJ 1000's mk3's were no trouble whatsoever.

The CDJ 2000 (MK1 & Nexus) have been a Royal pain!

I ask the question. WHY?

Categorically not true. There has been no recall of any units. Any thing to the contrary is a lie.

Well at least there's no recall, but any acknowledgement of the big freezing issue?

@T-Top > Yes, an urgent ticket has been created for the engineers to investigate and they are currently doing so.

I got freezing issues too, with external usb drives (got 3 of them for backup). Have descript my issues on another thread but no response at all.. I recently updated my (allready fast ssd) harddrives to more expensive, faster and better ssd drives just to NOT have any issues, but still...

  1. the cdj freezes after a while (autoload hotcue always enabled). Need to disconnect usb drive, or link, or need to restart the player to unfreeze..

  2. the cdj freezes on loading of a mp3, cannot play or cue and cannot push a b or c autocue, but i can push next button "track search" and it loads the next track and everything is fine again.

  3. when i call a hot cue which is assigned to a loop (created in rekordbox) and then i just wannt to use-modify (on the fly) that loop by pushing the loop mode and, as example from a 4 beat loop i make 2 beat loop, then the 2 beat loop replace my saved with rekordbox 4b loop at the hot cue button... Thats a bug i thing, not so important than the freezing. Also my saved loops ( from recordbox) are not reconized in the player as a 4, or 2 beat loops..
