I'm not whining about the faceplate since its has nothing to do with the performance. My question is more in line with, when Pioneer decides on how to rectify the issue. How do you think Pioneer will announce it to S9 owners? I don't want to miss it.

FollowDJM-S9 Paint Issue - Faceplate
I just got the DJM-S9 recently and already, the paint by the crossfader is starting to chip away. This shouldn't happen so soon. Perhaps the paint job on my mixer is defective? Would I be able to get a replacement faceplate under warranty?

Is it the company you bought it from where you get refund? Or will
They say I have to go to pioneer ? May have to ring them tomorrow
Who did you purchase from? What is their return policy? If within their return policy get a refund.
I bought mine from a retailer and on the last day of my return policy, which was yesterday, I returned it and got a full refund.
Quick update guys just exchanged mine .. first one was manufactured in August 2015 New one was manufactured in September a flatter paint was used on this batch... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1249370305088437&set=a.120797474612398.17430.100000464380403&type=3
Can you tell us where the date code is located? And show us a pic of where it is.
Thanks
I purchased mine from dj kit .com and it's within the time limit to return
It's on the serial number sticker on the The bottom of the mixer and on the box
Eric, what about the knobs? Does the paint look different?
That can't be right because mine says sept 2015 on box ??
Mine has August dates on it = bullshit paint
@nick Ahhhh ... Well i hope this one holds up @jaeOne I will check it out when i get home
I don't get this I mean if mine says September 2015 and has shit paint lol
??? Please
This means date is not a clear indication of whether you have a shitty finish.
JaeOne Right ... As for knobs they look the same
My mixer was manufactured in sept and the paint is chipping aswell and the fader caps are wearing off too.
Well I guess we wait .. 😐
I'm waiting on an email:
"Thanks for joining the beta. Your input is valued!"
LOL
I got lucky and the manager at my retailer agreed to take it back for store credit or exchange, which kinda burns but because I was wayyyy out of the window (45 days on a 14 day item) I wasn't complaining. Especially since it had cosmetic damage.
1759 out the door for a Rane 62 instead, so I came out of pocket 60 bucks over what I paid for my S9. It's lacking a few minor gadgets here and there that the s9 has (that I don't even use), but the build quality and support is light years ahead of Pioneer.
Good luck to you guys sticking it though. It just wasn't worth it to me. Cheers.
Damn sorry to hear that @JaeOne. I had a 62 before this and I didn't hate it but I still prefer the S9 when all is said and done. Build quality on the 62 IS awesome, though. I do LOVE the sound on the S9 so much more. But we'll see what happens when I get my mixer tomorrow. I'm still slapping the skin on it right away.
Just to let you know spoke to djkit mine going back tomorrow the bloke told me he spoke to pioneer DJ and the first batch was defective and the second batch has fixed that issue funny that pulse the pioneer tech guy or whatever never knew anything about this ????
I gotta admit the build quality has some issues
Lots of plastic, outside and in.
So's my car, what's your point?
Lol
Yo Pulse, you have a terrible attitude for someone representing Pioneer. Consumers don't owe Pioneer anything. We are the ones spending are hard earned money on the products, so if we aren't happy we have every right to be upset. Stop acting like we owe you or Pioneer anything.
I'm not too concerned with the build quality overall, just want this paint issue resolved. I still prefer the S9 over anything Rane has out at this point. But that's a topic of discussion for another time. Just hoping the mixer I receive doesn't have the same problem. If it does, it will just have to be rectified again. We shall see!
I'm OK with Pulse's comments. He replied on what Pioneer is currently doing. Lots of people just pissed and impatient. If you hate it so much, return the damn mixer.
By the way. I've had a 62. Great build quality and terrific faders but its so unintuitive and the plastic cue points break easily.
Correct he did reply on what Pioneer is currently doing. But as someone representing Pioneer, employee or not, the extra comments are unnecessary, unprofessional. I already returned both of the ones I bought. Also, I have had two Rane 62's since they first released in early 2012, and the cue points are still working perfectly. I am not trying to get into an argument with you Blisk, I respect your comments. Was just saying that people representing Pioneer should act professionally, that's all.
