DJM S9 Hot Cue loading for Rekordbox DVS

Yes - I'm aware DVS is not yet available for Rekordbox DJ.  I'm hoping that Rekordbox will come out with timecoded vinyl that will work through the DJM S9.  I have not bought the mixer yet because of one issue I've always had with rekordbox -- the requirement to load hot cues.  I'm aware that you can set auto-loading hot cues on the newer CDJ's - but sometimes it doesn't work.  And also - why is that even an option?  Why would anyone NOT want their hot cues to auto load?  I've always disliked that about the rekordbox system.  When you load a track, it's hot cues should be there ready to go - like any other dj software ever made.

Pulse - any insight on how hot cues will be handled with the DJM S9 and Rekordbox DJ?

With rekordbox, the cues load per-track. This would be the same for the S9 even with DVS.

The reason you might not want to have your hot cues load on a CDJ was to be able to jump around to any point in your collection (or CD as it used to be) instantly. This was a big feature for performance DJs or scratch DJs who wanted quick access to different songs.

i can see how that would be a good feature for scratch dj's.  thanks for the insight pulse.  one other question - do you think they will come out with a dedicated rekordbox dvs mixer - or will they use the s9 as the flagship dvs mixer - and add rekordbox functionality to it?

Unfortunately I can't confirm anything regarding the DVS pack at this time.

for anyone else who might be wondering - i figured out why my hot cues would only auto load "sometimes."  when you press next track on a cdj, the hot cues will not auto load, but when you go to the browse screen and select the track by pushing in the rotary knob, they will auto load.

@Justin > That's correct - there are several conditions where the CDJs will fall to a "performance" preference and not load the hot cues, instead prioritizing the ability for quicker playback.
