This has happened twice now, so I'm creating a new thread as I think it needs attention. This is definitely not some user error on the controller or some whacky setting I have going on...
I know it has been reported under slightly different circumstances (https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/203605713-tempo-range-alters-itself?page=2#comments).
On a particular track I own, while mixing in, the Tempo Range randomly jumps from +/-10 to WIDE, ruining the mix. Controller is DDJ-RZ and RekordBox 4.4.2 updated yesterday. This has actually happened to me before but I thought it was user error (accidentally knocking something).
The tracks being mixed were:
1. Thomas Bangalter - So much love to give (at +3.1%, 130.7bpm, Range +/-10)
2. Tori Amos - Professional Widow Cosmic Cottage Mix (at 0%, 130.7bpm, Range +/-10)
I'd been mixing for hours. This actual mix was a minute in, and the cross fader was half way across, then BOOM, track 2 jumps to WIDE range and the mix is trashed).
Today I'd been mixing for a while, everything running smoothly, then BOOM. Same track (track 2 above) jumps from +/-10 to WIDE. The tracks were the same tracks as above, only this time SYNC was disabled on track 2. However, I noticed that the beat was beginning to go slightly out of sync with track 1, so lazily hit SYNC twice quickly rather than manually use the wheel. This triggered the jump to WIDE range immediately. So, it is definitely a problem with the SYNC functionality.
I am happy to send you the troublesome mp3 file for analysis if needed, however, I don't think its just this file. As a software developer myself I know this might be a tough one to track down given its probably not happening to many people.
The recorded mixes are here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AgYlTlb-LFYqjDqaLFsXu0gl2FxR
Obviously skip to a couple of minutes before the end when I stopped recording.
