[CLOSED] XDJ-R1 1.09 Not all right

I just buy a new XDJ-R1 and I find some wrong.....

-Whit the 1.09 Firmware the quantize not match fine in the first beat even analyzed in Rekordbox, is not precisse!! If turn off the quantize and match it manually is right, but turning on is not match correctly, when you push the hot cue in the first beat it starts in the second one... I dont understand.. Quantize is not to ajust to the first beat? So is not working fine....

-When you set the Hot Cues in Rekordbox and import in the XDJ-R1 pushing CALL if  want to use the A B C hot cues you have to push it first all of them to import and is too slow....and i say again not precise. I just read that there is a way from Rekordbox  to auto import the hot cues whitout push the "CALL", I will try.

-The Echo effect doesnt work in cue headphones listen. The other effects works fine, but the echo one just work when is "on air", I mean when the volume slider is up. I try to change the level/deep but I just can listen when the track is just in cue. Why? Why I can ear the other effects in cue mode but this one not? WRONG!

-There is some way to changue or modify the Jog Wheel Light? I mean blink or dimming whrn the track is going to finish...

What this lights do? Because I cant find anythyng in the users manual.

-Why when one track is BPM constant (Example 128) sometimes go down and up the BPM in the LCD? (127,5 127,9 127,3 127,9) (Of course analyzed in Rekordbox) I try this track in another analyzer software and is constant 128

  • I think that the manual user is not enought, it explain HOW to do things, but dont explain whar are that things....

I will like to can use the CUE memory recall from Rekordbox. I read that for now is not possible....Are you guys thinking to update this?

I will keep checking another things, but my first impresion is BAD, I kwen that the XDJ-R1 had problems time ago, but some bugs keep not repair... When I buy Pioneer is because time ago it was THE BEST,  I have to change my main?

I think that Pioneer have to repair that things and others of the XDJ-R1 soon, because the people will not trust in Pionner any more.....

I have got the xdj r1 now for a month, but the firmware 1.09 gives problems with bpm counting.

For example: after loading it is 135 bpm, than a few seconds later it jumps to 134 bpm, I correct it with the pitch to 135, and then even later it shows 136 bpm. It must be 135 bpm, so the bpm counter doensn't work properly.

I want a sollution and version 1.10 !!! This makes me sad, it costs a lot of money to buy.

Sorry for bad english, I am a dutchman :-)

Hi Guy's

Fixed my XDJ R-1 Instability by changing the Wireless WLAN Settings from "AUTO" to CH1

Repost on other forums if this works for you please,

Wlan changing...Nope, doesn't work for me. Sorry!

Who can explain why the bpm counting changes several times bij playing cd's?

Is this a problem by working with cd's or is it a problem of the electronics of the xdj r1?

Thanks

Nick van Strassen and all the others with bpm issues please understand something: your xdj-r1 analyse the music every X seconds during X seconds. Let's say that every

30s xdj analyse the track during 10s. It's normal that if on the first analyse it gets a beat it shows you 128bpm (or whatever bpm) but if during an analysis the music has a break and there's no beat, xdj-r1 does its best and give you a different result.

Do not mix based on bpm.

Perhaps other pioneer devices make 1 analysis for each track and display always the same bpm during all track. But from my understanding the xdj-r1 makes several analysis during a play (and I'm thankful for it, because if my rhythm changes to reggaeton I would like to know the current bpm)

Many thanks to explain me how the xdj does his analysis. The bpm counter is ok and I understand it.

Thanks.

I still have the issue with my right fader that my dealer will not acknowledge and the problem of when master tempo is switched on, any touch of the jog wheels it will literally skip seconds worth of music.

Not very good when your live in the mix at all!

Hi, so, some feedback about bpm issue. I ve been contacted from Pioneer and i spoke wiht one of their dj explained the bpm changing problem. I tested two deephouse tracks(the same song on deck 1 and 2) and did notice any bpm jump back or whatever.. but playing other kind of music, like 70's bpm are always in change..so i assuem that it s quite annoying to follow and split and move jogwheel continuosly .. why did not gave us a choice to anailze ont time or continusly the bpm? Fonger crossed on verison 1.10 . I will read carefully what changes have been done on it before installing it.. ciao

Hi Gustavo,

Sorry this did not work either, totally crashed last night while playing a gig, so bad that even my Virtual Dj would not load,  looked like it had a cardiac arrest, not a happy bunny at all :-(

Still following this. And still disappointed that it hasn't been fixed. I settled on a numark ns7 in the meantime while this is resolved. Motorized platters are pretty awesome too btw. Just saying.

I discovered, that the bpm issue happens only with usb (i only use mp3s, I don't know whether it happens with wavs too). The bpms 90 of 100 times are correct if I use cd with mostly house tracks (I only use audio cds).

Last weekend at a party my XDJR1 froze. (ver 1.09)

I put a recorded CD on the right deck, and tried to play one of the last tracks, it started playing for about 10 sec and after that it stopped, and it didn’t played it after that. I ejected the cd, and discovered that there were some "holes" on the inner side of the disc. (After that, I started recording the video.) I don't get it why it didn't play the last track, whilst the holes should only affect the first 1 or 2 tracks. (I experienced this with cdj 100s and 200s.)

I tried to clear the disc, but it didn't make a change. I tried with 2 other original discs, one of them has been already played that night, but it didn't play any of them. I've tried playing from the usb, but the right deck didn't play from there, too, whilst a track has been being played on the left deck from the usb.

After watching these 3 videos... and the right deck completely failing on someone AT a gig... I will not be purchasing any pioneer products. Sorry pioneer, but why put a faulty product on the market for people to waste money on? Good luck everyone, I hope they can fix your broken stuff. :(

My unit is currently back with the retailer. It has developed a loud hiss on the output when no music is being played or you can hear it over the top if playing at a lower volume. It also crashed just before the first dance at at wedding a few weeks ago!!!!!. After I updated to firmware 1.10 the stupid thing thought it was in midi mode after about an hours use (even though it was still saying remote box connected on the display) I had to go to cd then back to USB for the unit to function again (right deck only doing this). Being a wedding dj I can't have this or any professional dj for that matter :-(

I'm curious to know what the retailer does for you about the hiss issue. Mine has done the same thing since day one on all the outputs.

Following up on some items in this thread...

For users who have experienced hardware failure, please contact Pioneer technical support or your retailer to have the unit serviced or exchanged. Users who have had their units repaired or replaced have not continued to have these issues after.

Because there are now many users posting a variety of problems, I'm marking this post closed. If you continue to have issues and require support please post YOUR OWN THREAD (you can post a link back to this one as well so we can look back to find previous info) and we will be glad to help you. Thanks!
