I followed "Moving-Your-Rekordbox-Database-Video-" in order to move my collection/database to a new windows PC recently.
I have Rekordbox running on both my desktop and laptop but they aren't currently synched.
I've noted your method of using an external drive to keep them in synch. Is there an alternative that maintains the same database internally on each machine?
My recommendation, if you want to use multiple computers, is to keep the music AND the database on the external drive and move it from computer to computer as needed - that way everything is always "in sync" as it exists solely on the drive you're moving around.
And yes, you should also have a backup of that drive. ;)

I have no idea why you would want to do this but everyone has their reasons!
One way you could possibly do it would be to use dropbox and store things there however you would need to ensure all things are equal on both machines e.g. file path - I don't know if this is possible to achieve.
My advice is use an external drive

And for the external solution, I could keep all music on both machines and the harddrive and the database just on the harddrive right?
when I say harddrive I mean the external drive to be clear
Have the database and the music on the external drive - can always keep a backup on one of the computers
