2 USB Drives With Rekordbox 1 PC

Is there a way you can use Rekordbox on one PC using two different external hard drives to store your songs. Both external drives have different letters but it seems to only allow you to use one central database at one time. When you select a different location and then insert the other drive - it only shows up the songs from one drive.

If anyone can help me with my issue - thanks in advance

Let me clear what you want to do.
You want to switch the collection/playlist/songs by changing the external HDD?
If so, you may be able to do it by using [Database management] in [Preference] > [Advanced] > [Database]. Unfortunately I have never tried it yet so I'm not sure but maybe you can do it.

This function is originally made for those who want to use one HDD with multiple PCs.

More detail about this option:
[Option to move the master database to an external drive]
This feature allows you to locate the master database at an external drive in which all the tracks of Collection are stored and to keep managing the same master database even if you change the computer to connect the external drive to.
You easily can manage one single set of library including Collection and playlists among multiple computers.

  1. Moving the master database
Click the [Advanced] tab in the Preferences, and first click the [Move Database] at the [Database management] section.
When a dialog appears, select the drive to which you want to move the master database.

  2. Specifying the location of the master database
When using the master database on an external drive, check the drive# on which the master database resides. Click the [Advanced] tab in the Preferences, and check the drive at the [Database management] section. If needed, select the proper drive# directly from the dropdown menu at the [Database management] section.
This procedure is very important every time when you work on another computer with the external drive and/or when you connect it to a different USB port because the drive name (drive letter) of the master database could be different from the drive# previously set.

After i had posted the question i thought about storing the master database on the external hdd itself but for safely reasons the computer hard drive may be better.

Thank you for solving my problem. I knew Pioneer would have looked into this as not every DJ will just use one hard drive to store their music.
